@holistic_halo: I don’t really know what to say. I’m sitting on the side of the road crying because I’m fucking gutted. I got to almost 42km today. I was only hundreds of metres from the cutoff when they called it and wouldn’t let me continue. I wanted that 50km finish so badly. I’m sad. I’m disappointed. And if I’m being completely honest, I feel like I’ve let everyone down who believed in me and supported me through this. I wanted so badly to make it to that finish line for myself, but also for all the people who have been behind me cheering me on. But I am proud of myself. Because I fucking tried. I kept going until they told me I couldn’t anymore. I gave everything I had today and I didn’t quit. Today just wasn’t my day. The amount of love and support I’ve had through this whole journey has honestly blown me away. Every message, every check-in, every person who believed I could do this, I’ve felt it all. And I’m so sorry I couldn’t get you the finish you were all cheering for. I know that probably sounds ridiculous, but that’s genuinely how I feel right now. I also need to give the biggest shoutout to my incredible friend Kim. Kim agreed to embark on this crazy journey with me, and having someone beside me through all of this has meant more than she probably knows. And today she went out there and fucking smashed her 50km. She’s an incredible friend, an incredible runner, and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of her. Watching her get that finish makes me so happy, even through the tears. I’m grateful for this journey, for everything it has taught me, and for every single person who has been beside me along the way. 42km wasn’t the 50km I came for. But I’m proud that I fucking tried. Today hurts. And I’m going to let myself be sad about it. But I’ll be okay. ❤️
