Honestly I still dislike them abandoning sakukallen alongside Theresa plot point. Could've expanded on it instead of retconning it. (I dislike retconning) The fact that the retconning itself doesn't help since the only canon media we have of what happened to kallen during her stay in the village is Sakura open world and it's not sufficient enough. Sakukallen is still a thing and I'd argue it's still canon in the source material, just that a lot of the material that made them a bit interesting were retconned.
