I remember when we were kids when we are really ill with flu etc we used to have this coz with the flu we have loss of taste so we hated water. lucozade was really a thing then in childhood

Lucozade was originally a simple glucose drink made in Newcastle, but after the UK sugar tax they removed the real glucose and replaced it with artificial sweeteners, colours and caffeine, so it no longer tastes like the original drink and that’s why it tastes crap now.

As a child of the 80s, if the glass bottle of lucozade appeared along with the sick bucket (aka washing up bowl) you knew you were actually poorly!
