Lucozade was originally a simple glucose drink made in Newcastle, but after the UK sugar tax they removed the real glucose and replaced it with artificial sweeteners, colours and caffeine, so it no longer tastes like the original drink and that’s why it tastes crap now.

As a child of the 80s, if the glass bottle of lucozade appeared along with the sick bucket (aka washing up bowl) you knew you were actually poorly!

Just my opinion :
Born in 1979, we always had lucozade when we were poorly. Then lucozade sport came out with that sports cap. So all very true. Original lucozade was so nice, pure sugar but fab.
