I remember having to drink garri in the middle of the night so it can take me through the day… will walk to school and enter exam hall with hunger… Should I talk about the day I got sick in the middle of the night?! Didn’t have money for meds, was shivering, thought I was gonna die… I had to unlock my door incase I kpai so people can know that something happened to me early…. From 2024 to 2025, I dey trek from a very far place to my workplace just to collect ₦15k salary every month. I even struggled to buy one pair of palm slippers. Every night when I was going home, me and my dad would remove our main slippers and wear old ones so the better pair would last longer. We did that for almost two years. People on the road even knew us because they saw us every night. The painful part be say the man wey I dey work for no dey pay the ₦15k complete. Na small small he dey pay am, even though him business account get millions. But I had no choice—I just kept pushing. With God’s grace and free JAMB, I finally entered polytechnic. University has always been my biggest dream, and I still believe that dream will come true. Alhamdulillah, for everything . and I know One day, I go reach the top, by the grace of God. And when that day comes, my dad no go suffer again. After everything that man has sacrificed for his children, it’s his turn to enjoy life. ❤️🥹
