With a PMCC, the LEAPS is where most of my bullish exposure comes from, while the shorter-term call gives me an opportunity to collect additional premium. Those two positions are designed to work together. In this Meta trade, the stock moved higher and the short call actually lost money. But because the position was structured properly, the LEAPS gained more than the short call lost, so the overall trade was still profitable.
