I am a moderator on over 30 accounts. One thing I have learned before taking any action on any creator / host live session…. Get to know the hosts live sessions, their friends, their likes and dislikes, supporters, what they will tolerate and what not. Understand your hosts body language, understand what makes them happy and sad. Don’t judge your host, encourage to have good quality and ethical live sessions. Don’t be emotional invested to your host as that will cloud your decision making. For any “moderating tips”, then feel free to ask..

Some mods gatekeep a creators live so people leave. If a visitor gets attention of the creators in a goodway a mod blocks or mutes out of jealously. Visitors feel they are uninvited guest

If I see a person trolling I simply pin their comment then wait for the host to either confirm or deny the mute or block. I understand that it is not my live so will standby until given the go ahead.

If a moderator has to ask for permission from the host just to block or mute a viewer then it's best not to be one.

Communication is key.As a mod for over 75 streamers each has different instructions. My biggest complaint is when a mod is the one who needs moding.

Mods shouldn’t go off their personal BS when helping run a room. #1 we run the room the way the HOST wants. Too many people take things personally or think we’re out to control. NO! If my host says “mute hateful comments”, that’s what happens. No matter who it is. And mods should NEVER mix rooms, if they mod for multiple. If I have to mute you in one room, that’s doesn’t mean I can in the other..each room is its own. And I follow those strictly.

Moderators are the real MVPs IMO. I have just 2 right now but really want to expand. However handing MODS the “keys to the kingdom” is all about trust and respect. I share a run of show with my Mods when I can and give very detailed instructions. We have a MODs only group chat. My one rule is: Kindness over everything and always give benefit of the doubt before blocking or muting

There is no reason to have 30 mods unless you have over 100 people in your live. Mods can really mess up your account
