Holsteins are the best. I used to milk with my Grandpa and Uncle 385+ head and I absolutely loved every single second of it. I call them Moo Moos lol but they are seriously one of the best cows 🐄 imo. Cows are very interesting and intelligent animals. I love my Moo Moo’s🐮! I can tell you that cow that head butts that man is real. Cows have different personalities and some will do things like that. We had this one bull that was flat out mean. He tried to smash my Grandpa between him and the truck door and he could have killed my Grandpa but thankfully Grandpa was able to get in the truck but he had a lot of injuries to his arm and a lot of recovery and pain and yet Grandpa had this gift with animals that is rare. Cows would walk straight up to him and eat grain right out of his hand. Bear in mind that they weigh a lot more than people realize and Grandpa was very lucky that bull didn’t kill him and he still petted him anyway and then he let it go to be put down and off to the meat packer for the meat. I would love to have more Moo 🐮 Moo’s and milk again. Hard work but worth it to be out among nature and not stuck behind a desk or on your legs like Amazon workers. The cow that got the man is a Hereford. We’ve got Black Angus cattle now as my Uncle is 84 and still mowing hay and raking and bailing it for all the farmers that want it done but don’t want to do it anymore. My Uncle gets the hay for his Black Angus which is a big help especially since family farmers are getting screwed over by this administration. Nevertheless we both still love farm work despite my education and working in healthcare 30+ years. It’s my Heaven on earth.
