@thehistoricwonderer: A day in the life of a British office worker in 1990 🇬🇧🖥️ Before emails, smartphones and Teams… there were enormous beige computers, floppy disks, handwritten phone messages, noisy dot-matrix printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. Lunch was a sandwich at your desk, paperwork seemed endless, and sooner or later someone would ask the most important question of the day… “Anyone want a tea?” ☕️ Who remembers working in an office like this? #BritishNostalgia #1990sBritain #90sNostalgia #OfficeNostalgia #BritishHistory

Not everybody had a…VDU! Personal computers were not on Admin peoples desks for many years. What we had was just you were off the computer which was held on a site many miles away ours was in Kingswinford! Friday mornings were dripping cake phones off feet up and then payroll came around with the little brown envelopes with our wage in CASH!
