I went to see an old friend I’d lost contact with for a few years. She was all excited, drug me into a spare bedroom that looked like a bridal shop. She had it all! Cake topper, wedding gown, shoes, veil gifts for the brides maids etc seriously she.had.it.all. I expressed excitement and asked who the fiancé was? She didn’t have one. 😳 It was the only part missing from her collection

That’s why I kept my engagement quiet for a really long time. I had friends in long-term relationships who wanted to get married but didn’t. I had friends who were planning their weddings and I had overbearing relatives who wanted to chime in on what we should do.
