oh yes. 15 years to sell 70 million. such an obviously not high number, it's only 5 million more than Skyrim which came a few months later.

😂 They were never gonna stop updating, they just didn't want to be considered "Live service" or set people expectations too high. And we love Terraria

101 is the average, but what is the median? because I'm convinced that average is pulled up by like 5 guys who have 100,000 hours in it

I own it but I probably put less than an hour into it over 15 years. every time I started up I find that I would rather play Minecraft or Satisfactory. if Terraria had come out on the SNES I bet I would have put tons of time into it

For Context for normal gamers, Dragon Quest started in 1986 and has just reached the 100 Million mark this year, a genre defining and starting series. Terraria released in 2011.

“Only 70 million” Like if you consider the historic lowest price for this game which is 1.99, round it up to $2. Then assume that all of those 70 million copies were sold on the platforms that take the largest cut which is 30% that’s still $98million before taxes. Not even considering merch, or a more realistic average this is a worst case scenario. I have a feeling they are doing just fine.
