Yes, I agree completely with what you’re saying. You can’t please everyone, no matter what you do or how hard you try. My childhood was honestly not something I ever had much to talk about. I grew up without parents and experienced things no child should ever have to experience. I was sexually abused, and for a long time, I felt like I always had to hide, run away and just survive. My mother made choices that put her own needs before her children, and eventually, at the age of 13, I ended up in a children’s home. I don’t really know my mother, and I don’t have the kind of childhood memories that many people have. But despite everything, I am incredibly grateful for where I am today. What I have today is through God’s grace, my faith, and my own hard work. I’ve worked hard for what I have and I’ve never been ashamed of where I came from. So yes, you will never be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be. Do what makes you happy, stay true to yourself, work hard, and do it for you. At the end of the day, you are the one who has to live with your choices—not everyone else.
