This could have saved my former classmates wife. She needed a transfusion after a c section delivering twins. She refused because she was a JW. Her husband is now raising three children by himself. He is no longer a JW.

So... which pastor or person who is in charge needs surgery? I swear another religion had this same policy years ago was bad, but then backtracked it when a bishop or something needed a life changing surgery (but screw the thousands who needed it before)

What’s crazy is HiPAA would prevent church leaders from knowing their congregants medical information anyway, but their “personal convictions,” which are actually dogmatic rules, caused them to live in fear of transfusions.

There is medical jewelry to have it say Jehovah’s witness to prevent them from having a blood transfusion while they are unconscious. It’s really sad about the idea of trying to save someone but you can’t hopefully with time this idea can go away so we can save more lives

SO IT STILL STANDS THAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE A WHOLE TRANSPLANT FROM BLOOD. BUT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO THE COMPONENTS WITHOUT BEING DIS FELLOWSHIP, BUT IF YOU DO TAKE A WHOLE TRANSFUSION, YOU WILL BE DIS FELLOWSHIP, SO THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED WAS THE COMPONENTS ,INTERESTING.

I had a 19 year old JW who desperately needed blood or she would die. She wanted it but was dependent on her parents who wouldn’t allow it. We arranged for a transfusion on night shift when they weren’t there. The next day, they we very arrogant when her labs were improved thinking god did it. They never knew she went against them.

I've known Jehovah's Witness's & even some Mormon who have told me that when the church changes policies like this it's because God changed his mind & told them it was ok. 😏
