Starting this week off by resharing one of my favorite and most viral videos ✨🐘🌅❤️🇰🇪 📍Amboseli National Park, Kenya 🇰🇪 The peace and calm of a sunset in Amboseli National Park with an elephant standing in the water… and a bird landing gently on its back 🐘🌅🕊️ The sun looks like an eye watching over the scene which makes it feel even more magical ✨👁️ Moments like this are why I love wildlife travel 🤍🌍 Pure stillness. Pure presence. A little about Amboseli 👇 ✨ Amboseli National Park is located in southern Kenya near the border of Tanzania, with Mount Kilimanjaro creating one of the most iconic backdrops in Africa 🏔️🌄 ✨ The park is famous for its large elephant populations, especially elephants with some of the biggest tusks in Africa 🐘✨ Many families here have been studied for decades, making Amboseli one of the most important elephant research sites in the world 📚🌍 ✨ Water is everything in Amboseli 💧 Seasonal swamps and wetlands are fed by underground rivers flowing from Mount Kilimanjaro’s melting snow ❄️🏔️ Even during dry seasons, these swamps provide life sustaining water for elephants, buffalo, hippos, and countless bird species 🐘🦛🦅 ✨ Elephants depend on these wetlands not just for drinking water, but also for cooling off, socializing, and protecting their skin from the harsh sun and insects ☀️🧡 That is why you often see them peacefully standing in shallow water at golden hour 🌅 ✨ The bird landing on the elephant is not unusual either 🕊️ Birds often perch on elephants to feed on insects stirred up by their movement or to catch a ride across the marsh 🌿 It is a quiet example of how interconnected ecosystems really are 🌍✨ Amboseli has this way of slowing everything down 🐘🌅 The light. The movement. Even your breathing 🤍 . . . . . #travelinspiration #visitafrica #travelinspo #bucketlisttravel #bucketlistadventures
