![CHEPLIN K'OTULA [Otieno Gor]~1977. Orch. Kawere Boys Band. LB:Okore Chieng' Ralala. Chaplin Ngode K'Otula, a celebrated Kenyan Benga musician and songwriter born in the early 1950s in Kawere village,Sino, Saye Konyango in Kasipul. After finishing primary school, he entered the music scene in 1972 by joining Daniel Owino Misiani’s famous Shirati Jazz band. Two years later, in 1974, he founded his own landmark group, the Kawere Boys Band. As a bandleader, he composed popular classic Benga hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s..most of his memorable and celebrated work are recorded in HUNDHWE lebels at Chandarana Studios, Kericho. He passed away in 1994. Otieno Gor, who was play bass guitar and also singing in his band, composed this song to praise him in 1977.
