@_highlight20news: A 74-year-old man in Florida, Richard Wilbanks, became a local hero after rescuing his puppy from the jaws of an alligator. The incident occurred near a pond behind his house, where he was walking his three-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Gunner. In a sudden attack, the alligator lunged from the water and snatched the puppy. Without hesitation, Wilbanks jumped into the water, wrestled with the reptile, and pried its jaws open to save his dog.
