Hi! We hope you apply. We are a small, but mighty school. We have incredible staff, faculty, and students. Our school is here to help you from your first day, to the day you graduate, and beyond as an alum. Book a campus tour and come see the school for yourself. Sometimes you need to see it in person, so you can see if it’s the school for you. Can I ask what your major is? Maybe we can put you in contact with an advisor or professor to see if they can answer any questions you might have. 🥹❤️💛

CSUDH is where you can get your degree while experiencing a very calm environment, perfect for studying tbh - that’s what I mostly loved about it . The professors are very good at offering extra support if needed. Overall, I had a good experience, I don’t have cons 😭😂

pro: small community, affordable with professors who teach in other campuses too besides CSUDH so same high education, stronger diversity, and same degree anywhere else // con: parking price sucks but good once you get the annual pass, not everyone things it's a school to brag about but genuinely who cares when many students get the same jobs as UCLA kids

Con: It’s definitely a commuter school, so you have to make the most of your time there. Work on campus, join clubs and organizations, get involved, etc. Pro: It’s a smaller campus with smaller class sizes, so you really get to know your peers and professors. There are also plenty of opportunities if you put yourself out there. At the end of the day, it’s really what you make of it! I’m a double alum. I got both my bachelor’s and master’s there!! #GoToros

pros: good options for food, chill asf professors, a ton of new buildings, a lot of places to chill at, clean asf bathrooms, you can find something new on campus almost everyday. cons: people antisocial ASF, a lot of classrooms have blackboards instead of whiteboards, admin in the offices are always contradicting each other when you call them for help.

Heyy CSUDH transfer student here. Pros are there’s lots of events you can attend and join clubs and try to find better friends for you. Cons are academic advisor aren’t so helpful from what I’ve gone through figuring out how many courses do I have left in order to graduate so please be aware of that and couple of professors will give u their honest opinion about any assignment you did in the class whether it’s incomplete, they will saying something from what I’ve gone through. I’ll just say just do your best.

Do it! Small campus, easy to get to, in a good neighborhood. I graduated in 2002.

Pro: LOVE LOVE LOVE it there! you get you’re own alone timeeee when you need it, you manage your own schedule. I love how profesor care about education and will make sure you pass your courses! (from my experience) I also love the food lol, the book store isn’t expensive when it comes to snacks or even merch tbh! I love everything about it! CONS: The only thing about it probably has to be the parking stuff and how people are so shy and don’t really speak as much but i mean it’s easy to make friends w the right people!

pros: the "antisocial" aspect helps in making sure you stay on track, especially if you also work. it's affordable and you can get ahead and graduate early. dont let its negative reputation influence your decision. take a tour and see for yourself if it will be a good fit

its fine! but youre gonna have to be social yourself. all my friends on campus are classmates i had online, then recognized in person and introduced myself! also….be sure to cover your own ass with the advisors. your education is also YOUR responsibility, and you’ll feel that 100%. your advisement report updates as you enroll in/complete classes, and it acts like a checklist to tell you what you need. schedule the advising appointment and make sure you understand your advisement report!!! (thats how to avoid the “shitty counselor experiences” youre seeing in the comments. i havent personally had a problem!)

It’s horrendous. The school itself is fine but my counselors (the people who HELP you, mind you) have repeatedly told me to drop out, give up, and when I’ve had questions their emails are summed into “search it on google”

It’ll be what you make of it. There’s something for everyone. Whether you just want to focus on getting your degree and graduating or if you want to join clubs/orgs and having that social life. It’s a small school but super affordable. Idk why there’s a stigma to the school, I enjoyed every moment. I went Greek and enjoyed every bit of it. Make the decision. I was able to get multiple job and offers when I graduated from there. Again, it’s what you make it. Wishing you the best!
