My ex’ relatives were the same way. So insane. Ultimately their behavior and my ex’ inability to protect my kids and I were the sticking point. Getting continuously run over is miserable. And I don’t blame you for not wanting to host so soon again.

I kinda get both sides. You offer them to take leftovers without any specifications, but you’re hosting and bought the food and made it so you should’ve been left with quite a bit and I wouldn’t have taken that much. But I knew kind of seen them miscommunication.

honestly this one's on op you really need to help people at the end of events or just have everyone grab their leftovers at once saying help yourselves with no limitations. someone will absolutely overly help themselves.

i always clean up and take care of the leftovers. i do not let them just help themselves. i put the leftovers for my family away in the fridge and then when someone wants some i make them 1 plate. Also i have people who brought food and pack up their stuff and if anyone asks for some of the food they brought they can ask that person.
