Realistically Coen and Anca would’ve worked if Coen wasn’t a vampire, at first she was holding off cuz he was hella young to her but it’s very obvious that they both wanted it and it would inevitably happened, but in game when it already does happen Anca is basically like “Ima grow old and die and u gonna be a vampire and young forever”

If it's any comfort, I have something to say. Two people in this game had the biggest impact that anyone can ever have on someone's life. Brencis, of course, as he turned Coen and if you buy into the idea that he "freed" Coen from his otherwise predetermined life as a short-lived peasant with silver poisoning then Brencis might be in his head for the rest of time but most importantly here as well, Anca. Anca introduced him to magic, this might be the single most important thing someone ever does *for* Coen to try and support him. Centuries from the time of the game, Coen will remember Anca and carry that love he has for her throughout his entire life because every time he uses magic, every new hex is forever bound in the person who introduced it to him. I firmly believe, even if the next games take place centuries after this one and Anca has no chance of making a living return, that Coen will determinedly remember Anca in each of them.

I had to take a break from the game after finishing her questline because that shit hit WAAAAAAAAAY too close to home. Felt like someone did soul damage to me

The good part of the game is they can make the whole vampire thing so unimportant. The tragedy of Coen happened without the vampires. Vale sangora was ruled by a tyrant before the vampires. Human can be more of a monster than a real monster. You can just take away whole vampire thing and Coen is still in agony. So in a way, Brencis did set Coen free

Poor Coen, in some kind of way he is free of the responsibilities and being stuck forever in Vale Sangora without future. In the other hand he is damned to lose people and his humanity over time, moreover his soul.
