JPMorganChase's payment data found72.5% of businesses paying for AI paid for one service in2025, with median monthly spending around$30. These measure adoption and spending, not which workflows a company has configured. Here's the practical setup, using Claude Code to make the pieces concrete: 1. Context. CLAUDE.md holds standing instructions: your business, customers, tone and rules. 2. Memory. With auto memory enabled, useful corrections and preferences can be retained. Open the notes and check what was saved. 3. Skills. A saved procedure gives a recurring job its inputs, steps and checks. 4. Connections. Connect the relevant accounts and restrict what tools can read, draft, send or change. 5. Agents. Give specialists their own instructions, tool access and whole jobs to work through. 6. Cloud routines. Configure scheduled work that can continue while your laptop is off. Local schedules are a different execution mode. 7. The gate. Permissions and before-tool hooks control actions. Test approval checks and block alternative sending routes. In my own business, these pieces prepare work and bring back a short queue of decisions for me. The subscription is the floor.
