@thinkwithv: Costco has thousands of hourly workers with million-dollar 401ks. Tony’s story gets even better. He’s spent 40 years at Costco, and now he mentors newer employees. Polanyi called this tacit knowledge: we can know more than we can tell. You see it, you practice it, you experience it. Who do you learn alongside at work? #tacitknowledge #ailiteracy

Mariena @ Mellonhead :
Great topic. I think much of this type of knowledge can be learned by AI (for knowledge work). It requires a bigger investment and a different way of launching tech / tools than most are used to. A period of apprenticeship for an agent if you will.

You might want to read on what Bridgewater has done in collaboration with Thinking Machines. Our tacitc knowledge is slowly and silently being captured via different mechanisms to train AI. Because an organization's main diferential when everyone has the same AI, is what their employees know. Now what I used to take away with me in my head when I leave a job, it is staying behind. And no mechanims for me to ask for it to be deleted it or for me to take away with me.

Did you watch the YouTube talk “what Ai can never be” by John Vervaeke? I think you’d like to. Speaks to this in a very clear and compelling way.
