@crimexpod: On July 17, 2023, a routine traffic stop in Rockford, Illinois, turned into a medical emergency for 33-year-old Lamar Bell. During the stop, Bell began experiencing severe medical distress and repeatedly asked for an ambulance. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office determined that Bell died from the toxic effects of an extremely high level of cocaine in his system. Toxicology results showed concentrations far exceeding levels associated with fatal toxicity. Investigators reviewed Illinois State Police body-camera footage along with the medical and toxicology evidence. Their conclusion was that Bell suffered a drug-related medical emergency, with no indication that traumatic injuries or police use of force caused his death. No criminal charges were filed against the officers involved. Source: @history.loopz
