My middle school choir teacher, Ms. Chatham. She made each and every one of us feel important, even if we weren’t one of the honor choir students or the super talented students. She sadly passed away my 8th grade year, but she inspired me to become a music educator as well. I’m into my 2nd year as a music teacher myself 🩵

Mr. Gilbert was my Secondary 5 teacher in Canada. He was the kind of teacher who, beyond what he was supposed to teach, took the time to show us things about space, news we should be interested in, boat competitions all over the world, and other really interesting topics. He would always check the doors to see if the principal was there, stop talking, and say, "Okay guys, for the last 30 minutes, we will work a bit."😂🥹

I didn't own a coat in 6th grade and my favorite teacher would let me in early to help grade papers when it was cold out. She would also give me a hersey kiss if my head hurt. She said chocolate helps with headaches. She was so sweet to me.

Mrs Wilcock. I was 7 when she taught me. She knew I was clever and I couldn’t be bothered to do the homework so I’d just hand in a blank book. She knew I understood the work so she never questioned me about the blank book. Other teachers would make her a cup of tea and she’d give them to me because she didn’t like tea. I bumped into her a few years ago (at least 20 years after she taught me) and she remembered all the stuff I’d told her about my life when I was little ✨

My college teacher miss Sara was the best. I went through so much devastating life events and she was my #1 supporter. She was always there to talk and listen. Even started bonding over sandwiches lol it was great I miss her

Mrs McKee, my teacher from being 14 to 16 years old. She just got me, believed in me. Not many teachers do that. I've been left school 16 years. I hope she's doing OK, probably retired now.

Mr. Currie, US History. He was already the best when I was a teenager, but then my first year as a teacher (at the same school) was his last. He used to walk by my room every day and wave - his room was on the other side of the school. He had no reason to be in that hallway other than checking on me.

My languages teacher let us all have 1 Berlin beer each on our school trip to Germany, we were 17. She just told us not to tell anyone or take any photos. Oh and later that night a neonazi skinhead shouted something at us in German and she started fighting him...

My 4th grade teacher quite literally shaped who I am as an educator. She retired at the end of my 4th grade year, so we were her last class ever and I will never forget the way that she made social studies and reading come to life. She told me many times that I was one of the most exceptional writers she’d ever taught and is the reason I still sit down to creatively write every now and then♥️

Mr schmookler, my high school theatre tech teacher. Took his class first semester my freshman year. Initially wanted nothing to do with it, tried to get into photography instead. He convinced me to stick it out. I know have a life long love of theatre and no longer fear speaking out in front of a crowd. My voice has been loud and clear ever since. I still genuinely dont believe my high school career would have been survivable without him in my corner. Even when I switched school, he still cheered me on. I talk to him on Facebook every once in a while and he's always so supportive and almost more excited than my parents when I meet my goals.

My fourth grade teachers Mrs. Hyland and Mrs. O — they made school magical. I fell in love with reading and writing then. Now I’m a middle school Language Arts teacher!!!
