@damini.delisle: Just harvested our first Moringa pods! 🌱✨ This tree is unreal. I didn’t water it, didn’t fertilize it, didn’t add any compost… and it’s still thriving. Moringa oleifera, is one of the most nutrient-dense plants on the planet. It’s often called the miracle tree or tree of life because every part is useful and it grows with very little care. Benefits of the leaves:🍃 • Extremely high in vitamin A (beta-carotene), vitamin C, vitamin K, and B vitamins • Rich in iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and protein • Contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds • Traditionally used in Ayurveda as a rasayana (rejuvenating tonic) for energy, immunity, digestion, and overall vitality Benefits of the pods: 🫛 • High in vitamin C (often more than the leaves) • Good source of dietary fiber, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants like quercetin • Support digestion and provide a lighter, fresh nutrient boost How to eat and cook the pods: 🥣 Harvest them young and tender (around 6–12 inches long). Cut off the ends, slice into pieces, and boil or steam for 5–10 minutes until soft. Eat them like green beans with salt and butter, or add to curries, soups, or stir-fries. They taste a bit like asparagus with a hint of green beans. You can also scrape out the soft inside and discard the fibrous skin. How to use the leaves: 🍃 Eat them fresh in salads, sauté them lightly, add to soups or dals, or dry them into powder for smoothies, teas, or seasoning. A small handful of fresh leaves or 1–2 teaspoons of powder is plenty. Nutritional highlights (approximate per 100g fresh leaves): ✅ • Vitamin C: up to 7x an orange • Iron: up to 25x spinach • Calcium: up to 17x milk • Protein: up to 9x yogurt • Plus strong amounts of vitamin A, potassium, and complete plant protein This tree really is a gift. Have you eaten moringa before? In what form? #moringa #moringaoleifera #treeoflife🌳 #superfood #plantprotien
