From the outside, it probably looked like I was overreacting, or being distant, or just difficult to deal with. But you never saw the nights I sat with my own thoughts, trying to make sense of things I couldn't say out loud. You never saw how much energy it took just to keep showing up, to keep smiling, to keep pretending everything was fine when it wasn't. It's easy to judge someone's struggle when you're not the one living it. It's easy to say "it wasn't that bad" when you didn't feel what I felt, when you didn't carry what I carried.
