the laziness is a side effect of depression (speaking from experience), but he’s also trained himself to not try his best anymore because no one will notice it, so why even try ? he feels that he will always be second, always be in the shadow of someone, always be forgotten and not a priority. so why do anything extra to gain attention ?? “it’s better if people expect less of me, because when they expected the most of out me it went unnoticed.”

Right, like. In my opinion, “lazy” is a made up word meant to make people feel bad for not contributing. People are not lazy. They’re tired, unmotivated, sick. People don’t just lay around and do nothing for no reason.

As a person who had a depression.... "Laziness" is one of the symptom...like you want to do nothing...nothing interested you anymore...so both came together...but i HATE when people only saw him as lazy.... Respect to my husband please if you don't know depression stop assuming things. It's really pissed me off
