Yes. They used to look for Rh factor because 20-30 years ago it could be a death sentence for mother and child if they didn’t know before conception. The medical field figured it out so not as important now.

Alabama was the last state to stop doing it in 1989-90. You were checked for any VD trails and to see if you were related. Some areas were tested to see if your blood types were compatible to produce children.

I got one or two better than that. When we got married in 1972, she had to get a physical, and submit to a background check. I was in the Army with a top secret clearance. We got married three times, a U S civil ceremony in the Panama Canal Zone, a civil ceremony by the government of Panama, finally a Catholic church wedding.😁 Married 54 years.
