@tonyhawk: I started playing Little League when I was 8 years old (2nd base). My dad would take me to Jack Murphy stadium for @Padres games and we’d marvel at the San Diego heroes of the time: Steve Garvey, Tito Fuentes, Rollie Fingers and Randy Jones. He became our Little League coach during my first season and eventually was appointed League President of the region, which was the very same year I quit baseball to pursue skateboarding. If he were alive today, he would not believe that the path to throwing a ceremonial first pitch at a Padres game was through skateboarding itself. Last night I had that honor and I know my dad would have been stoically smiling if he were alive to see it, but he might have hated the walkout song and its implications. Unrelated (?): Padres won!
