@inventionontt: Original Video Credit: IG/leon260515 While an excavator operates with a hydraulic breaker attachment, the long steel chisel suddenly separates from the breaker and launches high into the air. The tool tumbles through the sky before eventually falling back toward the dirt road below. Hydraulic breakers normally deliver repeated high-energy impacts through a piston onto a retained steel working tool. The chisel is held inside the breaker by retaining components while remaining free to move axially during operation. A failure or loss of that retention can allow the tool to separate from the attachment, although the footage alone does not establish the exact cause of this incident. The event demonstrates why tool retention, inspection, and exclusion zones are critical around hydraulic breakers. These attachments repeatedly transfer substantial impact energy through heavy steel components, making proper maintenance and keeping personnel clear of the operating area essential for safe use.
