Yeah, I have learnt this the hard way many times. I always try and give people the benefit of the doubt but 9 times out of 10 they aren’t going to have the same compassion that you have. Sadly, a lot of people lack empathy nowadays.

My dad passed in April, a very close friend in June, a woman who was like a big sister/aunt and a big figure of love for me for 25 years, then just days ago my soul doggo. No one showed up for me at all. Now I know everything I need to know about the ppl in my life. It’s only added to my grief.

This isn’t a lesson, this is social trauma. Unfortunately, a lot of people out there suck, but there are a lot of people who do not. Don’t give up. Don’t stop searching. And don’t stop expecting people to consider you. Just find the people who well. Because they are out there. We didnt curate this family over night. We are all in our 30s and 40s. Sometimes it takes a little while for people to grow up. Sometimes it takes a little while for the people who have high standards to find each other. We all dug through a lot of shit to finally find this gold. You’ll find your gold one day 🥰
