Trapezoid has only one pair of parallel sides! It can’t have to - it will become a parallelogram. Thats the definition and that’s why a square is NOT a trapezoid, a square goes into parallelogram family together with rectangle, rhombus and parallelogram. Trapezoids and Kites are NOT in that family , they are special Quadrilaterals 🤝
