just got my ass cooked in another comment section for pointing out the misogyny behind choosing the one female character who doesn’t conform to typical gender norms to wear a dress. Ik she’s fictional and this isn’t about her feelings and preferences, it’s about how this reflects in the real patriarchal world. There are a billion and one other characters who wear dresses that they could’ve put in a nice elegant dress. They could’ve designed a sexy elegant suit. But no, they decided to reinforce gender binary and stereotypes of what a woman should wear. and dare i get a little woke and say pants on a woman are a symbol of our rebellion against the patriarchy, and our non conformity to forced gender roles.

personally i dont mind any headcanons, but thing is people sometimes forget that headcanons CANNOT go over whats canon. you cannot take a female character who canonically has no interest in men and "headcanon" as bi or straight cuz its going over whats canon. same thing when a character canonically likes the opposite gender then you cannot "headcanon" them as gay since its going over whats canon. in the second situation bi works tho unless said they dont like the opposite gender. oh and yeah i might be dramatic but if a character canonically dislikes dresses then ignoring that is just dirsepectful to said character and shows they dont actually like her that much... love our masculine queen

for me i feel like she's androgynous with overly alinged masculine counterpart. She's not traditionally feminine but she is still somehow feminine. A girl doesn't need skirts or dresses to be feminine.

Guys it is okay to say that you simply don’t care but trying to make up 84928392 excuses on why arle would actually wear a dress isn’t valid because the info on her dislike is CANON. You can’t just debunk canon information like that, it doesn’t work that way😭 „but what if she sees a dress that she likes“ is a hypothetical and very weird scenario to imagine because that hasn’t happened and will never happen. Official Arle was also never shown in a dress so stop spreading lies that she did wear a dress once, I don’t even know where that delusion is coming from? This is like saying that Rerir didn’t actually love Tholindis or that Ayato and Ayaka might not be twins for x and y reasons. Canon goes over your headcanons and there is nothing you can do about it.

I agree! Although i will admit she has some feminine features because she is a women afterall but when i still stand to the fact that she carries a very commanding and masculine presence. I don't mind people drawing her with dresser or skirts but I hate when they try to make it Canon or say that 'its not that deep'. It is, her preferences are a big part of who she is...
