A humanoid robot clears one obstacle, then loses balance and crashes into the next barrier. This clip from the World Humanoid Robot Games shows how hard dynamic locomotion still is. The robot has to control foot placement, body pitch, momentum and recovery while moving through a course that gives it almost no room for error. A small timing mistake at the ankle, knee or hip can turn into a full-body fall in a fraction of a second. I kept replaying the moment before the fall. The robot is still moving forward, but its upper body starts drifting before the next step lands. Once that balance error builds up, there is very little time left to recover. These events are useful because they show more than a clean walking sequence. You see acceleration, obstacle clearance, recovery attempts and failure in front of a crowd. currently going through the worst year of my life & was struggling to make ends meet working 10 hour days on top of side hustles to support my 2 boys...took my suv to the shop and turns out the amount of work needed to make it safe to drive was WAY out of budget...it was either find a way to fund the repairs (several grand) or replace the vehicle which was also well above budget. When I tell you, I prayed and prayed and trusted God that he wouldn't let me down.The money wasn't there, and then it was...God provided in ways I never would have imagined...I struggle with trusting his plan every day but I have seen him work...#jesuschrist #walkby#blessed
