In this iconic scene from “The Lion King,” Rafiki imparts wisdom that echoes Buddhist teachings on living in the present moment. “Change is good,” he says, highlighting life’s constant flux and the growth that comes from embracing impermanence. When Simba struggles with facing his past, Rafiki teaches him that clinging to the past perpetuates suffering. After hitting Simba with his stick, Rafiki laughs, “It doesn’t matter. It’s in the past,” emphasizing that past pain holds no power over the present. As Simba acknowledges the lingering hurt, Rafiki shares profound insight: “The past can hurt. But you can either run from it or learn from it.” This reflects the Buddhist belief that while pain is inevitable, our response to it defines us, transforming suffering into wisdom. Fun fact, I’m about 6’7” in this costume from the bottom of my heels to the top of my hair, which makes me roughly the same height as canon Urbosa 😊 #cosplay #botw #urbosa
