I just wanted to make a little extra money. I was on maternity leave, watching my maternity pay get smaller while the cost of having a baby definitely wasn’t. I wanted more time with my daughter, but I also wanted my own extra money coming in. So I started learning Canva, creating digital products and learning how to sell them through social media. I started from a completely blank account. No audience. No business experience. No social media following. No idea what I was doing. Just my phone, Canva and a willingness to learn. I started posting simple reels like this and built my digital product side hustle around nap times, evenings and the little pockets of time I had. And what started as a way to hopefully make a couple of hundred pounds has completely changed what I thought was possible. ✨ I’ve extended my maternity leave ✨ I’ve returned to work part-time by choice ✨ I’ve had extra days at home with my daughter ✨ I’ve had consistent £1,000+ months ✨ I’ve had £300+ days from my phone ✨ I’ve earned over £8,000 so far ✨ I’m working towards another £3,000 before Christmas So if you’re a mum worrying about Christmas, bills, childcare or maternity pay… You don’t need a business background.
