I was carded for IBC Cream Soda. I told her no, it's soda. She was insisting. I said no. Mind you, I was 35 at the time. I said I wanted to speak to a manager. There was no way I was showing my ID for soda. The manager looked at her like she had lost her mind and apologized to me.

My boyfriend is 10 years older than me. I’m just in my 30s. I still look like I’m just out of high school. But the weird thing is if we go somewhere, they give me a weird look, and then ask him for his id and never ask me for mine. Which doesn’t make any sense

it sounds like someone was jealous of how beautiful you are [Heartwarming] my petty ass would've called the cops on her for not ID-ing my husband and the other guy. THAT is what will make her lose her job not you 😂 you don't get to pick and choose who you ID even if they appear over 50 you're still supposed to verify with their identification

I had this happen in college. I just happened to walk into self checkout at the same time as another person at Walmart. they insisted we were together and just paying separately. we both were like I dont even know them.

she literally said everyone under 50 needs to be carded- so why did she not card the other 3 people? also in my experience when buying with my boyfriend we both pull out our ids and they usually say “i only need one”

Some lady tried to not sell me alcohol because I was born in 2001– “You’re not old enough.” GIRL IM 25 what, “no you were born in 2001” I just stared at her- the old guy behind me, stood up for me and asked if she knew how to do math hahaha.

I've never understood why it lands in the cashier. The cashier sells liquor or tobacco to someone with a legal ID. That's where it should end the cashiers legal responsibility. If the person legally buys it, then hands it off to someone under age, it should become said person's responsibility. My wife forgot her ID in her car once while buying cigarettes at a Walgreens, she's 47 at the time. I was with her, I was 51. She was denied the sale so I tried to buy the pack right after her, I was denied as well, even with my ID. It's such a nanny idea that cashiers are held accountable for policing what I purchase for someone else.

I've had this happen but it's because they risk losing their liquor license if they sell to him and you're underage. They assume he's buying it solely for you. Not that big of a deal honestly. Just show your id and move on.

wanna hear something super crazy.. when I lived in NJ this one(only this one) joe canals REFUSED to sell me alcohol because my ID wasn't a drivers license. it was "for identification only ID" because I can't drive. I believe I was 23 at the time. and the friend i was with was 22 and she had a driver's license so I said ok she can just buy it then. and they said "no we can't sell that to her because we know shes buying it for u" so I said "I'm literally older than her. we're both above legal age and wouldn't it make more sense to sell me alcohol knowing that I can't drink and drive" and the manager goes "nope doesn't make sense at all. sorry" and then we got kicked out🤣
