If you don’t have Iva’s working did you remove the oil line on the back of the spacer plate? That usually gives you a few psi and is a good thing to do so the hose don’t blow going down the road

16.1 packs, takes different cooling nozzle, than 18-1, it will keep low oil psi without shimming the pump

good luck with your oil pump, I agree with what you're doing. I'm just putting a new battery in my daughter's car and changing oil as well.
