#GenesisPartner. I was THRILLED when @genesis_usa invited me to be a Genesis Original and asked me to my first FASHION EVENT! You all know–I’m a t-shirt and running shorts gal (when I’m not wearing a grungy old apron, lol). So, the idea of going to NYC for a watch party with Genesis USA and @Vogue was both exciting and TERRIFYING!! LOL! What was I going to wear? Who would I talk to? And what if there was no vegan food and I passed out from hunger? In the end, though, it turns out all my fears were unfounded. Our generous hosts at Genesis not only invited us to a dinner the night before (with plenty of delicious vegan options, I might add), allowing us to all get to know each other before the big event, but were, themselves, hilarious and funny and kind and awesome and I even met a fellow sci-fi nerd among them that I was able to geek out with until it was way past my bedtime! . I think one of my favorite things about this recent trip to NYC had to be the discovery of Genesis House. They had kimbap there!! They also served vegan japchae and vegan mandu and it made me so happy and a little emotional to find so many things that reminded me of my family and my childhood inside a restaurant in New York City. I realized that there’s something profoundly beautiful about finding a little bit of home inside something new, finding people and places that let you be yourself while challenging you to find pockets of strength and creativity you didn’t know you had. . Thank you Genesis for this gorgeous event, for nudging me out of my comfort zone, and proving that good people can be found outside of it. . #GenesisOriginals #VogueWorld
