Birth and Early Life He was born and raised in Riyadh. He memorized the Holy Quran at an early age and completed his various educational stages in Riyadh. He graduated from the College of Fundamentals of Religion at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University. Positions and Education He earned a doctorate in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh). He was appointed imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1412 AH. He served as a judge in the High Court of Mecca. He held the position of Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Umm Al-Qura University.
