Probably when he built it it was a nice neighborhood. When Elvis got Graceland it was good neighborhood but over the years it is in a rough part of tons.

After sitting abandoned for many years, it was finally purchased in 2013 by a British Businessman (Martyn Ravenhill) who sadly passed away last year. He paid the back taxes of $500k and restored it. I wanted to purchase it but the area was terrible. Many of the homes around it were abandoned with furniture on lawns and unsavory people doing unsavory things in the area. Not a place to raise a family.

when I was in the 1st grade in 83 my cousin, my brother and I used to walk by there on our way to school. We'd ring the intercom and yell obscenities then the boyfriend would chase us down the block.

Sigfried and Roy's original home is also in an older residential neighborhood in west Las Vegas.
