I’m so tired of these companies shoving ai down everyone’s throat. They can’t even decide if they should slow down development or not but are already thinking about putting more centers in space, ridiculous. We genuinely have no idea what this would do to our planet either

The whole idea of using the freezing atmosphere of space to cool data centres ignores the fact that you need atmosphere in order to dissipate heat. Heat exchange doesn't work in a vacuum because there's no molecules

It is a grey area indeed, for now at least. I do believe that nothing will change since if the server is on the space the responsible will be the company where they have the physical location. But that will raise some questions ofc :)
