“No phone concert” in the US is a bold choice. Count me out.

literally was at Phoebe yesterday and turned to my bff & was like “did you know Connor chewed his way through this pouch only to see he had 0 notifications on his phone”

Yeah, no, absolutely not. Concerts (and ANY large gathering in an unfamiliar place) aren’t safe enough to be locking your phone away. Why can’t we just give people something to cover the camera instead ?!

I really hope no phone concerts become more common!!! I just want to watch the artist without having to dodge phones for a clear sight line

i promise you can live without your phone for two hours. i went to her early release at a planetarium where the pouches were used and im VERY glad people weren’t on their phones the whole time. just sit and enjoy the artist you paid to see

I didn’t even know this was a thing.. I wonder what the rules are for people like me in this situation! my phone controls my insulin pump and is where I see my blood sugars 🫠

I was thinking how nice a concert sounded without a phone and opened the comments like “Oh.”

i’m so confused why i keep seeing people say “i’m not giving up my phone” it’ll still be with you, just in a pouch for a couple hours. it’s not like you can’t bring it into the venue at all

No offense, but if I'm paying to see you, you're letting me keep my phone thank you. I wouldn't put my phone in the pouch.

It's weird to see so many people think it's fine for a venue to require said phone to get in, but want to take away your ability to use it. Just ask nicely, like so many other artists do. Society has become so weird.

all i can think about is that they tried to implement them at my high school and it genuinely started a riot and multiple kids were arrested 😭

why is everyone against this idea? theres stations within the venue to unlock the pouches incase you need to text real quick or something else, and the staff SHOULD give you a wristband if you do have diabetes if you politely ask. just because you can’t handle being away from an electronic for not even 2 hours shouldn’t mean you have to make it everybody else’s issue.

If a place has a no-phones policy I just don’t go. It’s one thing to have no video/photography but it’s another to not let people be available to contact their kids/family members if there is an emergency or be able to be reached.

I don't trust places that don't let me have my phone tbh. not everyone's a good person or goes to shows to be a good person.

I understand why artists choose to have no phone concerts, but unfortunately I think it breeds opportunity for people to commit acts they would be less likely to when they are aware of how many camera’s are around. Is there no way to develop an app of sorts that connects with the tour/venue/date ect that can disable your camera for a period of time? I feel that would be a solution. People do need their phones especially in a day and age where they are such a big part of us and feeling safe. We don’t live in a society where it is safe to have no phone, especially since security time and time again has been proved to not be secure. It’s very hard to gain the attention of security when you are in seated sections. Especially over noise. That’s just my opinion though.

I think no phone concerts are a fantastic idea AND they are 100% possible without those damn pouches. I saw tool a few years back and recording wasn't allowed, they did not use pouches and if you were caught you were kicked out of the venue simple as that. and it worked just fine for an arena full of people no pouches necessary
