I was on a ride along with the deputy and some elderly woman lost a ton of her life savings. She entered a contest for the house of her dreams because she was disabled and low income. Somebody called her and said she won the contest and she'd have to pay taxes. She gave them a whole bunch of money - and he was in another country. She never got it back. Luckily, her neighbor called the sheriff's department when he did because she was going to give them more. I think that was the end of her life savings. I felt so bad for her. The only person she had to look out for her was her neighbor.
