@luna_vlab: One thing I wish I understood earlier in engineering is that not every class rewards the same kind of studying 📚 Calculus clicked for me through repetition and problem reps. Dynamics needed more than that because choosing the right method is part of the problem. Then classes like mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics forced me to slow down and actually build intuition for what the equations and quantities meant before trying to brute-force the homework 📝 That’s why I don’t really believe in one “best” study method for engineering. The better question is: what is this class actually asking you to understand, recognize, and apply? 💡 More engineering lessons and tutorials should probably talk about that part too, not just “study more” but how to study differently depending on the subject 🙌 #engineeringstudent #engineeringlife #engineeringmajor #engineeringbasics #learnontiktokcontest
Recently started skipping taking notes and even going to lectures instead just spamming problems with chatgpt and math has never been easier

the mistake ppl do is try to memorize. u will fail if u tried to memorize ur way through engineering, and u will start making tiktok videos about how hard engineering is. just go to classes try to understand, and practice to make sure u understood, cuz the second mistake is when u read an exercise solution and u think u can answer it without trying. reading through it means u understood the base, but u shoult try solving it by ur own to make sure u know

Calculus yes you don’t need the definitions, real analysis absolutely.

I feel like for classes like thermo, once you understand the concept and work out a few problems, you can almost do any problem from that chapter. The assumptions are most of the work

I will be like integrals seem to like a calculations over a phenomenon in one interval in an area or a volume or a flow RTT . derivative is a calculation of variation but into a very short interval

This makes sense. When I did calculus, I studied the book so much, partly because the professor was bad, and did pretty well but I eventually forgot most of it. The only thing worth remembering for engineering is how to use calculus and what the big operations mean

this is why calculus is easy for me. even 2 and 3 . u just do the math . u don't need to have a physical interpretation of what you're doing. just do it
