it's also a lot of fun to pick up a bag and have half of it spill out the bottom. and I'd hate to miss out on that experience

Your reasons dont seem to be very flour specific and could apply to anything, right?

I pour my flour into a plastic cereal jug that has a sealed slot, recycling the paper bag. It makes things so much easier

cream in a container with a plastic spout... more convenient? not worth it. We are killing our planet because we are too lazy to open a cardboard spout

everything probably used to come in paper bags before we had plastic, right? so i get the brand recognition issue but progress in tech & packaging tech comes for all things so it's funny that this is one of the single items that don't seem to move on from paper. I've never thought about it before but now that you pointed it out it feels like it's not as well protected as it should be

Why does stuff like paper plates and bowls come in packs of like 24 or 48?? Why can’t they just make it the full 25 or 50

the EU seems to have better recycling. 1. is that true? 2. if it is, why don't the us compliment the same rules? seems like an effort t everyone should be taking a part in

1. All flour, grains, seeds, sugar, pretty much all dry goods comes in paper bags here, that can be recycled (by law).
2. Any plastic food containers are (again, by law) either made to be fully recycled, or at least 100% bio degradable.
3. We've even banned tinned goods because they're wasteful and demand too much energy to be produced and/or recycled. There's absolutely nothing stopping the US from choosing to be more environmentally sustainable, just like there's nothing that stops them from implementing some sort of gun control, but here we are.
