@the_germ99: I absolutely loved Resident Evil. This seriously felt like I was playing a brand new side quest from one of the games. The movie follows Bryan, a medical courier who gets sent on what should be a simple delivery near Raccoon City and ends up getting thrown straight into hell. He’s not some trained badass either, he’s basically a regular guy trying to survive while everything around him keeps getting worse. The story is completely new, but the Resident Evil DNA is everywhere. Typewriters, first aid spray, shotgun shells, padlocks, limited ammo, creepy hallways, finding weapons as you go. It felt like somebody actually understood what playing Resident Evil is supposed to feel like. My only complaint? Where the hell were the puzzles? Give me some ridiculous statue, three medallions, and a door that somehow requires a chess piece to open. Resident Evil has gone from horror, to action, to trying to recreate the games, but this felt different. It felt like a side story happening somewhere else in the Resident Evil universe. I had a blast with this one. Zach Cregger absolutely killed it with this one. 9/10 #movie #review #BookTok #horror #residentevil
