@ashleeinc: “In 2013, my friend told me he was attacked by something that wasn't human while working in Northern Alberta. Two years later, I found myself back in the same area, unknowingly driving into what my boss claimed was a nest of skinwalkers and a Wendigo. Then 3 families allegedly died, and I was told it was my fault.“ This is one of the strangest stories I've ever heard. Is it a cryptid encounter, a cover-up, or something else entirely? You decide. This is Jeb’s* submission to Spooky Scary Storytime, the series of allegedly true listener submitted stories about the scariest and most unbelievable things people have ever experienced. #TrueScaryStories #SpookyScaryStorytime

As an oilfield medic from Alberta who predominantly works around that region i can confidently say that this is true. The amount of creepy/ weird stuff I see working in those remote places is uncanny.

my reserve is along highway 6 in mb, something always happens to somebody in between "devils lake" & my reserve, I used to travel back n forth every weekend from my Rez to my apartment in Winnipeg and I was always so scared that last stretch because of all the different stories i would hear. on my 15th birthday me and my friends encountered a really bright light hovering over the tree line like that movie "fire in the sky", I was trying to jump out of the vehicle to get a better look but my cousin pulled me in and stepped on the gas, another story of somebody seen this lady walking but he was too scared to pull over because something told him to keep driving & don't look back.. all of a sudden he heard a knock on his driver side window, he looked and it was that lady.. she was running as fast as his truck going 110km an hour, he stepped on the gas and she was still keeping up. ugh that story always creeped me out the most, there's many more different stories & it's always in that stretch from devils lake to grand rapids 😳

Worked in a area far North. it was helicopter in work. I got dropped off at a site with a apprentice to calibrate some equipment. single well pad all swampy trees around. finishing up our work and cleaning up equipment. im staring at my apprentice and realize something. I thought he was whistling the whole time but his mouth wasn't moving. I asked him if he was whistling. He said he DOESNT know how to whistle. sat in silence for 30mins waiting for our pick up pretending not to hear someone whistling at us.... freaky

Did a job in around Zama, camp job, the lynx would come out and sit at the edge of the lease and watch us! Did lots of work in Rainbow Lake 🌈. Was told 1100 different birds migrate there for the wild rice that grows there!

As someone from Northern Canada (Northwest Territories), I 100% believe this story. The headless Nahanni got its name because of the same creature

So the consultant should have explained why he shouldn’t go through Assumption. Instead he just says “Don’t do it”. Lack of communication

Northern Alberta holds a portion of one of Canada's oldest forests: the boreal. This forest stretches across northern Saskatchewan as well. I live here. There is definitely something in these woods.

RIPPA :
I've worked up in Zama, and it is definitely an area of high strangeness. I was on a rig on night shift, deep in the woods. middle of winter. 1 night we heard a scream that was more like a howl but not a howl. the lights from the rig lit up pretty much the entire lease and we could see nothing. I could feel something tho that I have only felt in places In BC when also being deep in the woods. the shifts are 12 hours and we had been on this particular site for the last 2 days. The push wasn't around, it was only the rig crew and our driller was a substance abuser who was fired about a month after this. Our water hauler tho was a good man who was from Newfoundland. He believed in things like I did. When we heard the scream howl, he looked at me and I at him then we both looked at the lease hand who was a native guy. He wasn't from the area but we had all spoken about all things strange and were basically on the same page. Everyone except the driller was a Lil off that night as we heard this howl/scream again this time louder and longer. and the driller was totally unfazed. The rest of the crew tho was basically sorta in shell shock not knowing what to do or what was making the noise. For the most part the lease hand was ignoring it as best he could, but you could tell he was scared. the water hauler just went about working doing clean up with the lease hand. we were stuck on some kind of formation so me being ruffneck was about the only 1 with a Lil spare time. so I was constantly scanning the woods in the direction of the sound. 3 times we heard it within about 1.5 hours. tho we never saw anything. I swear I could see a silhouette of something briefly just inside the tree line. it was a very clear calm night and lights bouncing off the snow lit up the tress very well at the edges of the lease. in the morning when the othrr crew arrived we asked them about the sounds if they heard it, no one had, tho that day 1 walked the edge of the lease and reported finding tracks he couldn't identify, tho he said they were like a dogs but longer and rather far apart and not like anything he had seen and not 4 legs either. definitely bipedal and long strides. Yup, Zama.

One of my surrogate gpas, worked on the rail line when it was still coal. (man, sask, berta,bc) Their is way more out in the places humans rarely see that would make people realize; we're many, but still guests & more fragile than we believe. This world is more than we could ever imagine or dream. Just wait and see. If you survive long enough 😉
