I like your explanation but I think we should give the English translators of Black Myth Wukong a little more slack. There is a ton of text in that game and a good proportion of that is in prose. It's not easy to go into the nuance especially if the English audience is a stranger to Chinese literature like Journey to the West, which the game is based upon.

This is so beautiful.
