🇺🇸 United States — October 2018 After spending 197 days in space, Andrew Feustel returned to Earth from the International Space Station and documented the surprising physical toll that long-duration spaceflight takes on the human body. In a video recorded by his wife, Indira Feustel, the astronaut is seen attempting to walk in a straight line with his eyes closed during a post-landing field test. Wearing a safety harness while assistants stand nearby to catch him, Feustel quickly begins to drift sideways after only a few steps. The unsteady movement is caused by the effects of microgravity. After months in orbit, astronauts’ muscles weaken from limited use, while bone density declines at a rate far faster than typical bone loss on Earth. The body’s balance system must also readjust after spending months without gravity. Even though astronauts follow intense exercise routines—often two hours a day aboard the station—recovery on Earth can take months or even years. During his mission, Feustel served as commander of Expedition 56 and previously Expedition 55, completing three spacewalks during his time in orbit. The footage provides a powerful reminder of the physiological challenges of space travel, an issue scientists continue to study as space agencies prepare for longer missions—including potential human journeys to Mars. 🎥 Follow @darklens_30 for more dark true crime & shocking history like this. #viral #reels #space #Science #History
