@tall_buildings_mx: Puebla | Puebla is where the volcanoes watch over everything and the city answers back in color and light. By night, the Zócalo glows warm. The cathedral’s towers cut a dark silhouette against Popocatépetl, and the buildings around it — deep Talavera blues, yellows, terracottas — hold the day’s sun in their walls. The smell is roasted corn from a corner cart, fresh cemitas, and sweet mole simmering behind old doors. Church bells from a hundred churches compete with cumbia from a passing car. Up on the hill at Los Fuertes or over in Cholula, the Great Pyramid lights up with the tiny church of Los Remedios on top, sitting right under Izta and Popo. Downtown stays busy, strings of lights over Calle de los Dulces, students from the BUAP filling patios, sipping café de olla that cuts the highland chill. It’s not flashy like Mexico City — it’s layered.
