@heidifureytattooo: A big blast over for Dani 💥 Dani came to me hoping to blast over some sizable existing script across her left shoulder. She was keen to avoid the laser route, so we knew we needed to go fairly large with the new design. Because there would inevitably be areas where the old tattoo would show through the negative spaces of the bold flowers, I wanted to create something that would naturally distract the eye away from the shoulder rather than making it the obvious focal point. We opted for a full back piece with a large, asymmetrical and organic design, allowing the composition to flow naturally across the body while balancing out the heavier area on the left shoulder with a flowy chrysanthemum Dani was brave enough to sit for 3 days back to back in March, where we managed to get the entire piece mapped out, outlined and the majority of the back shaded. She then came back for a half day to finish the lower left side of the chrysanthemum and we completed the bud on the upper right shoulder Considering the density of existing ink we were working over, we were both super happy with how this has come together — and even happier that we managed to create something that feels like one cohesive piece rather than simply a direct blast over.
